“Eighty-year-old Jesse Huffman was working his crops with a mule when he was captured by Rebels who forced him to guide them into Arkansas. His wife, Elizabeth, waited in a small cabin for two months until he returned.”
Great Story but is it true?
Jesse would have been seventy-years-old during the Civil War and not eighty.
He died at age eighty-nine in 1878.
