  		1945 Date unknown but was before 1950 - picture taken at Kentwood Arms Hotel, built by John Woodward. The Crystal Room was well known for the beautiful chandeliers. My Dad is standing second from right (next to where picture was taped) This Banquet was held by the Charles C. Meek lumber company for their office staff and lumber yard managers. My Dad worked in the lumber yard and eventually became manager at the lumber yard on South Jefferson and Water Street. He later became their office accountant. He worked in a small office building on Commercial Street and later at their new office building on South Jefferson across the street from the lumber yard.

  	Left the rental house on Poplar and moved to 1025 N. Concord...neighbor was St. John's Hospital. Paid cash for house with money saved...John did not want to be in debt.

  		1955-1957 picture of John and Eula was taken at their home on Poplar Street. Note the box camera Eula is holding...Eula is also dressed nicely so it might have been a Sunday afternoon. My brothers bike is in the background. No fencing back then...just bushes and hedges to divide property.

  	John and Eula never told their children John and Gail when they were married. it was to be their "secret". According to Eula, "...We would find out when they died and the marriage license and certificate were found in their cedar chest." After Eula passed away in 2004, the documents were found in the cedar chest! They had obtained the marriage license in Douglas County but ran away to Seymour to be married. The mother of Johny was not happy about the marriage and showed her resentment for many years.

  		1917 Grandmother Terecia and grandson John John William Ferguson was born 14 February 1915. Assuming he is almost two would place the picture in late 1916 or early 1917. Check out the curls. On back of picture it says this was taken before she had the flu.
