In 1935 they were not married so John was in Ash Grove and Eula in Douglas County on a farm. Occupation was salesman for a lumber yard with an income of $800. John had completed 12 years of education.

1945 Date unknown but was before 1950 - picture taken at Kentwood Arms Hotel, built by John Woodward. The Crystal Room was well known for the beautiful chandeliers. My Dad is standing second from right (next to where picture was taped)
This Banquet was held by the Charles C. Meek lumber company for their office staff and lumber yard managers. My Dad worked in the lumber yard and eventually became manager at the lumber yard on South Jefferson and Water Street. He later became their office accountant.
He worked in a small office building on Commercial Street and later at their new office building on South Jefferson across the street from the lumber yard. |
